A sexy Italian family drama written by, directed by and
starring Marco Filiberti, ADORED is, on the surface good,
clean, gay fun. But ADORED comes to America at a time
when our country is grappling with what defines a family,
and for Riki Kandinsky, the film's title character, the idea
of family is about to have meaning for the first time. As
ADORED begins, Riki and his estranged older brother
Federico must reconcile after their father's death,
and Federico accompanies Riki back to Rome to talk
things over with the lawyers. Federico knows
nothing about his younger brother, except that he
apparently has no money worries and lives in the
lap of luxury. But soon enough Federico discovers
that his brother is a famous porn star, rich but unsatisfied.
When a suddenly orphaned child comes on the scene,
Riki is challenged by a great desire to help, and the boy's
affection triggers a paternal instinct within him. But will society allow Riki to create the family for which he yearns?
