A Magnolia Pictures Release

Directed by Brian Cook and featuring Oscar nominee
John Malkovich as you’ve never seen him, COLOR ME KUBRICK
follows the true exploits of Alan Conway, an effete goof of a
con man who masqueraded as the director Stanley Kubrick in
early 1990’s London. COLOR ME KUBRICK enjoyed its world
premiere at the 2006 TriBeCa Film Festival.

Malkovich’s performance as Conway is a fascinating portrait of
an affected, manic stranger who was able to hoodwink dozens
of people. The imposter knew little of Kubrick or his oeuvre but
this didn't prevent him from using and abusing the credulity of those
who thought they had come in contact with the mythical and equally
very private filmmaker. We see Conway namedrop his way into
winning friends, lovers, money and access and then, incredibly,
redoubling his efforts after being exposed as a fraud.

Witty, jovial, authentic and, ultimately, poignant, COLOR ME KUBRICK
is a EuropaCorp production, directed by Brian Cook who assistant directed BARRY LYNDON, THE SHINING, and EYES WIDE SHUT and written by Anthony Frewin, Stanley Kubrick’s former real life assistant. The film was produced by Michael Fitzgerald and Brian Cook, with Luc Besson serving as executive producer, and stars John Malkovich, Jim Davidson, Richard E. Grant, Luke Mably, Marc Warren and Terence Rigby.
