THE EYE is a supernatural thriller which has redefined
fear for Western audiences by offering a glimpse
into Eastern rituals and attitudes surrounding death.
At the age of two, Mun (Lee Sim-Je) went blind. It's
eighteen years later and a new and risky corneal
transplant operation restores her vision, but she
now sees mysterious black-clad figures who seem
to foreshadow sudden deaths, and horribly disfigured
denizens of another side haunt her everyday existence.
It seems that Mun has inherited Ling's fate and the
misery that comes with the ability to see more
than one wants to see. A box office smash
across Asia, Hollywood has come calling in
the form of Cruise/Wagner Productions,
which recently acquired English language
remake rights to the film. The film is directed by the Pang Brothers, Oxide and Danny.
