Inspired by today's lightning advances in genetics and
technology - advances with which bio-ethicists, political and
religious leaders are struggling to keep up - GODSEND is an
elegantly-made major motion picture for a time when the
distinction between good and evil is growing
increasingly murky.
GODSEND poses the question If you lost the person closest
to you, what would you do if you had one chance to bring
that person back? This is the impossible situation
confronting Paul and Jessie Duncan (Greg Kinnear and
Rebecca Romijn-Stamos) when they lose their beloved son
Adam (Cameron Bright) to a tragic accident. As they arrange
his burial, a fertility expert, Dr. Richard Wells (Robert De Niro),
approaches the couple with an incredible offer: he will bring back
their boy and reunite their broken family. The chance to bring their
son back through untested science under a veil of secrecy draws
the Duncan family into a Faustian pact with terrifying consequences.
Nick Hamm directs GODSEND from a screenplay by Mark Bomback.
The film is co-financed by Lions Gate Entertainment and Todd Wagner and
Mark Cuban's 2929 Entertainment, with Marc Butan, Michael Paseornek and
Cathy Schulman serving as producers.
