Sins of a Father

Assignment:
Consult with producer Graham Leader as he presented a new film called SINS OF A FATHER starring the late British actor Alan Bates at the 2015 Santa Barbara International Film Festival.  It wasn’t until the car ride home from a pre-festival scout to Santa Barbara back in in December that Leader mentioned he had been the subject of a long and fairly brutal New York Times story maybe twenty years ago all about his efforts to make and sell a movie called SHUTTLECOCK, starring the then-vital British actor Alan Bates.

Actions:
Just as Leader had resurrected – like Lazarus himself – SHUTTLECOCK from the grave to become SINS OF A FATHER, it was swiftly apparent that the only journalist who could really cover the epic story of the new film was the same writer at the Times who had profiled the young, impetuous, possibly hot-headed and also tenacious producer in the first place http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/01/movies/sins-of-a-father-resuscitates-a-1991-film-starring-alan-bates.html?ref=movies .  We also reached out to local press including KEYT’s affable Oscar Flores in advance of the Festival http://www.keyt.com/news/SBIFF-Movie-Spotlight-Sins-of-a-Father/30776858 .
